The TRANSFIGURING movement was founded in Paris on December 5, 2014 by seven visual artists whose aim was to promote creative photography: Adrienne ARTH, Olivier de CAYRON, Georges DUMAS, Marie-Laure MALLET-MELCHIOR, Françoise PESLHERBE, Isabelle SEILERN and VAM.

Back then a Manifesto was published through a 36-pages booklet which briefly introduced the artists of TRANSFIGURING and why they had decided to join together.

After 7 group shows in various French and Dutch cities and after five new members joined the movement (Willy BIHOREAU, Ulrike BOLENZ, Arnaud SABOT, Jean-Philippe DEUGNIER et Max FOGGEA), it was decided TRANSFIGURING deserved a more comprehensive and ambitious publication to promote their artistic line.

Hence the project of a fully illustrated book in a bilingual edition (French-English) which will present both the movement in its variety of approaches regarding contemporary photography and each artist in their singularity.

The first financing stage is set to print 300 copies of the book, with 128 pages and dimensions of 29x23 cm.

If that initial goal to gather 6000€ is reached, then the plan is to increase both the number of pages and the number of copies.

The book will be officially launched during the ARTKHEIN PARIS event which will take place on June 1-3, 2018 in Paris. All TRANSFIGURING artists will be exhibiting their work during that weekend, so if you are in the French capital on one of those days, please come by to collect your book, meet the artists and discover their code-breaking works in real life.
