We are Rifò, a socially responsible brand which produces 100% recycled clothes! Our project was born last Christmas thanks to Ulule.

After recyclying wool, we have decided to find a solution for cotton, one of the textile industry’s most polluting fabrics, as well as plastic bottles, the real threat to the sustainability of our planet.

After 4 months of work, we have created a T-shirt that is sustainable, and environmentally and socially responsible. Ah, and designed to last, of course!

Cotton is the most common natural fiber in the clothing industry, accounting for about 33 percent of all fibers found in textiles. Cotton is also a thirsty crop...

At the same time, a million plastic bottles are bought around the world every minute, creating a serious threat in waste management...

Now, we have a solution to both these problems. We can recycle cotton, a short fiber, if strengthened with a long and resistant fiber like polyester which is recycled from plastic bottles.

This mechanic production process requires only 30lt of water for one single T-shirt! This method allows us to recycle the fabric leftovers and plastic bottles, and reduce the amount of water, pesticides and chemical products used in the production.

Wearing a 100% recycled T-shirt is a sustainable choice!

We are committed to produce all our apparels in Europe in order to guarantee a high-quality product. Our craftsmen in Italy maintain a know-how of excellence. In this way we are also certain that the production process is ethical, with a low impact on the environment and a positive social impact.

The cotton leftovers arrive in Spain from all over Europe, here they are shredded together with plastic bottles and transformed into textile fibres and then spun into a new yarn from a internationally certified company. Then, the yarn is shipped to Prato (Italy) where it is woven, cut and transformed into a T-shirt. Of the cost of the T-shirt, 8% goes to Spain, the rest goes to small local businesses in Prato.

Manufacturing locally allows us to save fuel consumption during the production and to create job opportunities for the territory where the production is held.

In addition, thanks to a distribution without intermediaries, we can offer you these T-shirts at an unbeatable price!

We have chosen the comfortable fit of a Fruit of the Loom’s T-shirt of the 80s because comfort is one of our main values! If you are uncertain between 2 sizes, choose the bigger one. For instance, between a Medium and a Large, choose Large.

Right from the start, we have created the initiative #2lovePrato. Rifò wants to give you the chance to donate 2€ from your purchase to a project that takes place in the city of Prato and its surroundings.

The first 90 T-shirts (EARLY BIRD) will be delivered by the end of April. The rest will be delivered by the end of May.

Delivery fees are free for Italy, 5€ for EU, 10€ for the rest of the world.
