Madacha was born further to many long-haul trips and countless amazing encounters: it was founded by a French and Russian duet end of 2016.

We sell items and products which we discovered during our multiple trips around the world and on the five continents, as we want to share other cultures and know-hows.

We like natural and ethical items, handmade by businesses and people committed to their communities. Part of our journey was nurtured from our encounter with Tumar, a fascinating company from Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia. We started selling linen and felt bags and accessories, along with their lovely felted animals. We now have the project to sell their wonderful felt slippers.

You can be part of this project ! You can pre-order slippers, which will be handmade once the campaign is finished. We have selected the most natural color, i.e non dyed lambwool. Each pair of slippers comes with an assorted pair of insoles, for enhanced comfort.

The wool is washed, checked and laminated, to be transformed to felt in a later stage.

Felt is made by adding water to the wool. Then, it is handled back and forth, covered with a piece of fabric, to remove the water. This process is long and requests a lot of strength.

The desired shape of a felt item is achieved with appropriate wooden gauges. Each pair of slippers requests two gauges, one for each foot. Of course, you need a pair of gauges for each size of the slippers. The felt remains on the gauge for a few hours, before taking it final shape and being ready for the final operations.

Once the felt slipper gets its requested shape, the insoles is assembled to it. Wether it is silicone, leather or other material, each insoles is assembled manually. Last but not least, each pair of slippers is controlled before being packed and dispatched.

All the slippers and insoles are handmade by Tumar in Kirghizstan, from their design and know-how. Madacha imports them and sells them: we manage communication, sales and distribution, from Valence, in South-Eastern France.

The model you can pre-order is from non-dyed lambwool. The color is light beige.

The slippers have a transparent silicone insoles, with small dots to ensure a good adherence to the floor. You can also wear your slippers outdoor, in reasonable conditions, such as collecting letters from the mailbox.

Each pair of slippers comes with a pair of assorted insoles and a carry bag, made from printed fabric. The bags are unique and made from inspiration, by Madacha, and will be the perfect accessory to take your slippers everywhere with you when you are traveling, to put them apart when not wearing them or even to wear them in the office if you feel like !

As wool cannot be washed with high temperatures, we recommend to clean your slippers with a wet fabric. The slippers cannot be washed in the washing-machine.

We will contact you within 72 hours after your payment by email to confirm the size you want, and then once the slippers are available, we will contact you to confirm your delivery address.
