Les porteurs de projet :

Ségolène Bonnaventure, pianiste-accompagnatrice, titulaire du Diplôme d’Etat au Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional du Grand Nancy. Depuis les années 2000, elle a joué dans des formations variées (musique de chambre, orchestre, tango, musiques actuelles, direction et accompagnement de choeurs…) et a mis son expérience de musicienne et de danseuse au service de nombreux projets (créations de spectacles musicaux, théâtraux et chorégraphiques, arrangements de partitions…). Plus habituée des salles de concert et de classes qu’aux studios d’enregistrement, ce projet est pour elle l’occasion d’explorer une nouvelle facette de son art.

Nicolas Vicaire, auteur/compositeur/interprète, s’est passionné ces dernières années pour la composition de musique à l’image, ainsi que dans l’enregistrement et la production musicale.

Il a participé en 2018/19 à de nombreuses formations, notamment à L'autre Canal à Nancy en mixage et aux Escales Buissonnières à Lyon, en composition de musique à l'image.

Issu à ses débuts des musiques actuelles, il est désireux de donner à sa musique un caractère plus large, de créer des ponts et des connexions entre des univers musicaux trop souvent dissociés. Dans cette volonté de décloisonner, il a travaillé et travaille encore depuis quelques années à des projets d’arrangement de ses morceaux : arrangement pour quintette à cordes , arrangement orchestral (projet en cours), arrangement à la harpe (projet en cours).

Ce nouveau projet d’album piano avec Ségolène Bonnaventure s’inscrit dans cette volonté de décloisonner les genres et faire connaître plus largement sa musique.

Nicolas est aussi le guitariste et chanteur du groupe Aïeur au sein duquel il a écrit bon nombre de compositions.

The project :

"By your sides" is a piano album project (solo), that it came out of the meeting between Nicolas Vicaire, author / composer and the pianist Ségolène Bonnaventure. Thanks to a close collaboration between the musician and the composer since a few months, eleven pieces, specially composted for this occasion, were recorded last October at the Baal Productions studio located in Metz, France.

This album, which will be released early in the next year, is an opportunity to discover a new view of Nicolas's musical universe. Behind her piano, Ségolène Bonnaventure performs with dexterity and subtlety formerly "pop-rock" compositions, which under a "classic" view are going to surprise you with the softness they radiate by revealing a hidden sensitivity.

What will the funding be used for?

The funding will help to ensure the production costs bellow:

- realization of the graphic design of the album cover,

- mixing and mastering

- a first pressing in 250 copies

- payment of SDRM fees (society for the administration of mechanical reproduction rights).

In order to distribute and make known the album, the recording process of the album has the opportunity to be filmed and produced by Paula Onet. Participatory funding will also be used to pay the editing/calibration costs that are necessary for its distribution.

Above all, it is an opportunity for us to pre-sell the album before the release and to diffuse it as widely as possible. (This is why we have oriented some of our counterparts in an approach allowing you, if you wish, to help us to make it diffused as widely as possible, by offering, for example, an album to one or more music-loving friends!).

The project leader:

Ségolène Bonnaventure, pianist-accompanist, holder of the State Diploma from the Conservatoire à Rayonnement National of Grand Nancy. Since 2000, she has played in various groups (chamber music, orchestra, tango, current music, direction and accompaniment of choirs, etc.) and she has put her experience as a musician and dancer at the service of numerous projects (creation of musical shows, theatrical and choreographic, arrangements of scores…). She is used to play in concert halls and classrooms rather than to recording studios, so this project is an opportunity for her to explore a new view of her art.

Nicolas Vicaire, author / composer / performer, has developed a passion in recent years for composing music for movies, as well as recording and producing music.

In 2018/2019, he took part in plenty training courses, notably at “Autre Canal” in Nancy in mixing and at Escales Buissonnières in Lyon, in music composition for movies.

Starting from current music, he is eager to give his music a broader character, to create bridges and connections between musical universes that were too often dissociated. In this desire to uncompartmentalize, he has worked and he is still working since several years on arrangement of projects for his pieces: arrangement for string quintet, orchestral arrangement (current project), harp arrangement (current project).

This new piano album project with Ségolène Bonnaventure is part of this desire to uncompartmentalize genres and make his music more widely known.

Nicolas is also the guitarist and singer of the group “Aïeur” in which he wrote plenty of compositions.
